The ever-growing annual 7s rugby festival will once again take place this Saturday and kicks off at 10:00 at the home of Winchester Rugby just off North Walls Park.
I’m so proud to announce that there is no entrance fee –it’s free to everyone and all of the Winchester community, with plenty of no charge kid’s activities like a bouncy castle, face painting and much more.
The rugby is obviously the main event with no less than 456 players signed up to compete in the men’s elite, open woman’s, social and mixed touch competitions with 14-16 year olds able to join in the fun.

There will be plenty of catering and beverage outlets and vendors, but The Queen Inn beer festival in the “Touchline Tavern” marquee selling a specially brewed “Winchester Rugby Pilsner” amongst other offerings is bound to be a big draw.

Chairman Steve Barrow comments “I would personally like to thank the organising committee and the sponsors – without whom, this event could simply not run!
So massive thanks to The Queen Inn , The Fulflood Arms, ShadowDragon, Radcliffe & Co, Collaboraite, Wheeler International , Silkstead Developments , LWC Drinks , Pure Inspiration , Tony’s Ices and Rawlings Opticians .
A final thank you to Winchester Football Club who have donated their facilities for the day in a sporting partnership.
I would encourage the wider community to come along and join in the family focused day and see what we are all about at your local community rugby club.”
