A NEW INITIATIVE DRIVEN BY PRESIDENT ROBBIE SANDERSON AND LONG STANDING MEMBER CHRIS GILBERT-WOOD BRINGS WALKING RUGBY TO NUNS ROAD FOR EVERYONE .

So, have you been inspired by the Lions or the Roses and fancy a game of rugby?

What about one that’s still all about skill, teamwork, and enjoyment — without the tackles and high-impact collisions?

Walking Rugby is a fresh take on the sport, played at a walking pace with minimal contact.

It’s not just about the game; it’s about the people you meet and the friendships you make. It’s ideal for anyone who wants to stay active and enjoy the game in a relaxed, sociable setting.

Whether you’re returning to rugby, recovering from injury, or trying it for the first time, Walking Rugby is open to all ages and abilities. It’s designed to be inclusive, with men and women playing together, focusing on passing, positioning, and having fun. No scrums, no rucks — just the core of the game, making space, finding space and slick ball handling made more accessible. It’s ideal for reliving those glory days or for giving the game a try if you have never played before.

EVERYONE IS WELCOME!

No special kit is needed — just comfortable clothes, trainers, and a willingness to give it a go. We’ll guide you through the basics, so no experience is required.

SO WHY NOT COME ALONG, GIVE IT A TRY, AND BE PART OF OUR TEAM AT WRFC.

Steve Barrow, the Chair comments “I would like to thank all those involved with this new initiative and what it will add to our great community rugby club.”
