This week, for the first time, we have had a positive COVID case in one of our age groups.
This means that the 19 players who trained with the individual have been advised to self-isolate.
We are a large club with over 1000 members and towards 500 under 18 players who regularly attend training on a Sunday to participate in close contact sport.
We are incredibly lucky to only have had the single case that has affected other players since lockdown and the return to rugby.
This is very much down to the amazing work of our volunteers who have been working with parents and players to minimise the risk of transmission.
We take our responsibility to protect players, coaches, and all our family very seriously during this difficult time .
This includes the COVID declarations for players, and also our position on families who are living with someone who has been asked to self-isolate - either due to a positive test or who are a close contact of someone who has tested positive.
If you are living with someone who has been asked to self-isolate, we politely request that you do not attend training during that period of isolation.
We appreciate that this may be over and beyond other guidance from elsewhere however ,this is the position of the committee.
Yours, in rugby
