THE HAMPSHIRE WOMEN’S TOUCH LEAGUE FINISHED ON SUNDAY 10 JUNE WITH TEAMS FROM ACROSS HAMPSHIRE COMPETING IN BEACH LIKE CONDITIONS AT COSTA DEL GOSPORT TO DECIDE THE FINAL LEAGUE POSITIONS.

And Winchester’s Ladies saved their best until last by playing some of their finest rugby of the season, managing to get the ball over the line half a dozen times!

Winchester were the only team to score against the overall league winners Aldershot & Fleet, as well as securing a win against hosts Gosport & Fareham and a draw against Andover to finish third overall.

The women have had a fantastic season - gathering an established squad, gaining experience and growing in confidence every time they play. Their amazing attitudes, big smiles and the positive comments from the other teams praising how much Winchester have come on in the past 9 months were reflected by the team coming third overall in the final league table.

The team are looking forward to one final contact tournament in July and will continue their Wednesday evening training sessions during the Summer, in preparation for a great start to next season.

All ladies over the age of 17 are welcome to join, from complete novices to more experienced players - Wednesday night training runs from 7:30 to 8:30pm every week.

For the younger ones, Sunday training starts up again in September, but why not come along for some touch rugby from 7pm on a Tuesday evening to spark the fire?
