Successful rugby clubs are more than just victorious teams on the pitch.
Players and coaches are vitally important but so are the many dedicated volunteers who work hard behind the scenes to help the club function.
You don't have to be a rugby expert to get involved.
Whether you're a current player, someone who has hung up their boots or a person who has never picked up the oval ball, you could become a valued rugby volunteer?
The safety and welfare of every young person involved in our sport is important, we want their rugby environment to be safe and happy and it is our responsibility to protect their wellbeing.
Regulated activity is legally defined as 4 or more days in a 30-day period with vulnerable adults and/or children aged under 18.
All volunteers who wish to take part in regulated activity must:
1 - COMPLETE A VOLUNTEER APPLICATION & SELF DECLARATION FORM
2 - SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE THE FREE OF CHARGE RFU HEADCASE PROGRAMME & RFU INTRODUCTION TO SAFEGUARDING AWARENESS TRAINING
Go to https://gms.rfu.com/GMS/coursefinder then select virtual and safeguarding in the COURSE drop down, set WITHIN to 10 and enter the WRFC postcode and hit search

3 - APPLY FOR AND RECEIVE RFU DBS CLEARANCE
Contact Club Safeguarding Officer Lesley Martin or DBS administrator Andy Duncombe to arrange a DBS check.
If we do not have team administrators, coaches, referees, fund raisers, marketing experts and maintenance helpers (to name just a few), rugby - especially rugby at WINCHESTER RFC would not be the amazing game it is.
You don't have to be 'sporty' to be a rugby volunteer because there are opportunities for everyone to give time.
Whatever skills you can offer, we need you, whatever you think you can do.
